I paid a hefty amount to book two rooms for four nights for four adults at IBIS Hunter Square, Edinburgh. As a senior citizen who has stayed in many types of hotels, this was by far the worst in terms of value for money. The rooms were tiny and cramped, with no space—pun intended—to move around. There was no intercom, so any request meant going down to reception, and family members in the two rooms had to visit each other instead of simply calling. Despite requesting adjacent rooms, we were placed on completely opposite corridors. When I asked to change rooms the next day, I was told I’d have to vacate one by 12 p.m. but couldn’t check into the new one until 3 p.m., leaving me without a room for three hours. Breakfast was one of the worst I’ve had, with very few options. That said, the staff—especially TANYA—was warm, polite, and professional, always chatting with us at reception, in the lounge, or at breakfast. She even gave us a parting hug the night before we checked out.

Well located. However, we had a very unpleasant experience. Room was in a very bad equipped and odour. The staff was attentively tried to find the solution, however as the room is fully booked, we had to bear with the room throughout the night. Kudos to the staff. However, facilities wise, the hotel need to improve to ensure a better and consistent guest experience moving onwards. Breakfast was lovely though, plenty of options.

A perfectly adequate hotel just steps off the Royal Mile. Rooms are clean but are very small even by European standards. Noise level from outside was tolerable. Staff was helpful. Room was a bit pricey for what it was. I guess you are paying more for the location then the ambiance and square footage.

I thought staff were very helpful, rooms were nice and like the personal message with the muffins in our room. Felt bathroom could have had a little more space in the toilet area and breakfast could have been improved by having freshly made scrambled egg not the powdered/packet scrambled egg that just adds water.

We found the Ibis Hotel comfortable, but the bathroom was very small, with the bath towels shortened to make a bath mat and hand towel out of. We found the overall experience good.

The hotel I booked let me down so I found myself without a place to stay at 10:30pm on a Monday night. I knocked on 5 guest house doors and tried the other ibis, I had almost given up hope. Then I came to this Ibis fully expecting to be turned away, but instead I received a warm welcome and they had me booked in within 10 mins. THANK YOU IBIS.

At check in we were given the wrong room. We were supposed to have 2 twin beds and we got a double bed. At the time we were so tired so carting the luggage up and then down and then up again was so annoying.

Hotel was well located to the Royal Mile. The. Dreamcast was the worst we’ve experienced in six weeks of travel. No haggis in the capital city and most of the cold items looked like they needed topping up - scraping the bottom of the jam jars shouldn’t be a thing! Rooms were small.

Well located to all the attractions Edinburgh has to offer. Unfortunately our room at the front of the hotel was so noisy into the early hours of the morning that we only managed around 2 hours sleep each night. The room was in mediocre condition and very expensive. Breakfast selection was poor compared to other ibis hotels we've stayed at, with hot food being barely warm and cold food too warm. Yoghurt and cold meats should be kept cold for safer consumption.
