This was my first time staying in Mercure Bugis and, overall, the impression was positive. The location is great, specifically for me but also for many other tourists or professionals visiting the city. The rooms were fine, though more attention to details and focus are needed to ensure optimal and consistent lodging experience. I found the beds very comfortable and the sleeping experience was good except for the pillows, which I found way too high and stiff for comfort. The purified water tap in each room is a good and useful touch. The pool is nice and invites to spend a relaxed time in or nearby. In that area there are two washing/drying machines that can be used by guests by purchasing tokens from reception. The hotel accommodated a late check-out on my last day, which was helpful. They also offer a free storage of belonging/bags while you are away. Lastly, as a business customer, I was fully delighted with my communications, online and later in real-life, with Pauline See, who deals with corporate accounts. Pauline displayed a professional approach and, at the same time, was personally pleasant to interact with. In fact, of the three major hotels' corporate contact persons with whom I have dealt with in recent years, Pauline as the most competent.

Well located. Opposite to a shopping mall and hawker's market for great local food (not for shopping). Quite old. Even I have been upgraded to a loft room, but seems not very enjoyable and worth the price. The toilet occasionally can small the drain. The air con is not powerful at all, left it on for a few hours but still not very cold.

Both check in and check out was smooth and fuss free. The concierge kindly for a got a taxi for me in the downpour. Housekeeping was particularly attentive and did give me a bell to check whether I needed anything despite me missing them during their normal rounds.

Toilet flush is horrible. On most occasions need to flush 4+ times to empty bowl. Shower still has mold and needs recaulking. Plastic waterproof sleeve on bottom of shower door came off The good. Breakfast buffet was good. But the hot plates were not hot enough to keep the food hot. Often times the food was lukewarm Staff was excellent. Very friendly, helpful and courteous

everything was great, however one small qualm to get yr attention to, the swimming pool seems to have a number of tiles popping out which i cut my hand at. there were a few near the shower area and the jacuzzi area had plenty, just worried a child or an unaware person might get a deep cut from those, kindly look into those.

As an Accor Diamond member through regular stays with the group, I generally value the brand for its consistency — but this stay at Mercure Bugis was mixed. Positives: Breakfast was good, and management was professional and helpful throughout. Room and comfort issues: On arrival, the air-conditioning was off and the room was extremely hot — particularly uncomfortable in Singapore's climate. The Loft room's steep staircase is a safety concern at night, especially for bathroom trips, and only one TV remote was provided for both the downstairs and bedroom TVs. The bedroom TV was not working properly and had to call maintenance twice. I was subsequently moved to another room, but it was very small, and my request for a room upgrade was not accommodated. Management did not proactively follow up with me on the issue — I had to raise it at reception every morning myself. The safe deposit box was on the floor and had to kneel on the floor to open and access the safety deposit box. This is the first time I used a deposit box kneeling down! Hotel-wide temperature: Corridors throughout the hotel were consistently very hot; only the lobby and restaurants were properly cooled, making movement around the property uncomfortable. Loyalty recognition: As a Diamond member, I received no acknowledgement of status at check-in and no welcome amenity, despite this being standard for Platinum/Diamond guests. After the room move, some perfunctory amenities were given to me. 😅 Overall, room comfort, building temperature, follow-up, and status recognition fell short of what I'd expect from Accor.

My stay at Mercure Singapore Bugis on September 5, 2026. I booked this room only one week prior to arrival. Despite this planned, government-mandated shutdown having been scheduled and known to management well in advance, no one bothered to notify me during booking or in any pre-arrival communication throughout the week. Instead, the front desk sprang the announcement on me at 9:30 PM when I checked in after a long flight. Informing a planned total blackout on a late-arriving business traveler at that hour is unacceptable; with critical morning commitments the next day, finding and relocating to alternative accommodation at 10:00 PM was entirely unviable. The conditions in the room were atrocious for rest: -Immediate loss of climate control: As soon as the power cut out, the room became muggy and stiflingly hot almost instantly in the Singapore humidity. -Blinding emergency lights: The harsh emergency lights remained fully illuminated the entire time until the air conditioning was restored, making darkness impossible. -Disruptive flickering: When power began returning, the room lights flickered on and off repeatedly, completely ruining any chance of remaining asleep. -Severe business impact: I had two high-stakes business meetings the following day, which were severely compromised because I was exhausted and operating on virtually zero sleep. To withhold known operational disruptions from a guest throughout the entire booking week—and corner them at 9:30 PM with no realistic alternatives—is a severe failure of duty of care and basic hospitality transparency. Because this reservation was processed via our corporate travel platform (Perk), any conventional card refund will route automatically back to a central company account, providing zero remedy to me—the guest who endured this suffocating, sleepless night.
