Breakfast was mediocre with more vegan options than meat. Pillows felt like rocks. Room was very yellow. Everything in the bathroom especially was more yellow than my teeth. View had the pier, but it was angled and cut out in such a way that it wasn't pleasant to the size of the room. It felt depressing to look out and see everyone around COASKA Bayside Stores having a better time than we were, because it felt like we were inside some prison cell. Serious need for renovations. I explored the 5th floor ballroom area and thought it was creepy with the delapadated halls and lack of lighting. 1-5am Sign wasn't posted on the taxi side of the hotel, so we weren't aware to buzz in and had to find out in the rain how to get in. Everywhere smelt like smoke. This place was disgusting and we're never coming back.

Absolutely fantastic customer service! My only concern was that the rooms look like they could use a refresh. There were some stains on the pillowcase and bathroom walls but everything else looked clean.

If you're working on the base, the Mercure Yokosuka is hard to beat for location. It's right by the train station, which makes getting there from the Tokyo airports very easy, especially when you're carrying bags in the August heat. It's also just a short walk to the base. The staff was excellent throughout my stay, and both the restaurant and breakfast were great. The hotel itself is a little older, but they've done a good job maintaining it and everything was clean and comfortable. My only minor complaint was the A/C. It worked fine, but I wish it had blown a little stronger. That said, I stayed in August, so it was about as hot and humid as it gets. Overall, I'd definitely stay here again, particularly if I were coming back to Yokosuka for work on base.
