I was booked in for 3 nights and wasn't expecting the Taj Mahal. I did expect to feel safe and sadly this was not the case, and I nearly left after the first night. There was an insane amount of noise that I thought was from the room next door. Later, I realised it was from the road, and I could hear it despite being on floor 15. To add to my feeling of being unsafe, someone tried to open my door in the early evening. Thankfully, it did automatically lock and they were unable to get in. They did not try again, but I spent the night listening and looking through the peep hole. Because I did not really want to move, I stuck it out and my experience improved. But on the plus side, the bed was comfortable and the other facilities adequate for the price. This hotel is in a great location being right in the center of town but if you are after a peaceful night, this is not the place to stay on a Friday or Saturday night. In contrast, Sunday was very peaceful.

The room what in a very sad state. The first thing you notice when walking in was a strange stench in the air. Various items around the room were in need of repair and made the place feel neglected eg. sink tap loose, cover over shower sump broken, grease build up on the chain to raise the blinds, cover missing over the light. The facilities were very minimal eg. had a hob to cook on (but no cooking equipment), no toilet brush, no dish cleaning equipment. Basically made you feel like no-one really cared about the room beyond cleaning the surfaces, making the bed and providing towels.

Extremely small spaces, and very old looking, it was very tough to move around in the room for one person. The electric heater was rusted, disgusting look, inoperable.
