Staff were very helpful, would have been nice if tea and coffee were replenished daily. While parking fees were waived, $25 per day for outside parking was very expensive as room rates were also expensive.

If you need to be in the Epping area, Mantra is a fantastic place to stay. Clean & tidy. Comfortable rooms. Included breakfast was fresh & very tasty. And the bar / restaurant also had really lovely food, and a nice atmosphere. Epping isn't exactly a tourist hotspot it would appear, but if you do need to be in the area for whatever reason, I would highly recommend Mantra as your accommodation choice.

Staff were friendly, the room was clean and the bed comfortable. A diverse spread was available for breakfast. Late check out was provided. In selecting a hotel I searched to find one that fitted my work requirements: locked safe, WiFi, and breakfast. Unfortunately the safe did not work. When staff were informed of the immediacy required to fix this problem, the staff member went out of his way to achieve this rapidly, even though maintenance staff had finished for the day. This is a sign of the type of hotel I want to stay in—one where staff are able to problem-solve when the unexpected happens.

The rooms are always very comfortable and clean. I find the rooms to be very quiet. Internet is good for when you are sitting in the room at night working. The room service is good and food is always good. The buffet breakfast is probably one of the best i've had regarding hotel breakfasts - well done!

The room looked nice. However there was a terrible smell in the room, the longer you were in there the stronger the smell was. It was particularly bad in the bathroom, and there was duct tape over the drain under hand basin. So I suspect there was a known issue that hasn't been rectified.

Unfortunately no chilled water in room, no raw sugar sachets and no extra pillows as the ones provided weren’t much thicker than the sheets. When queried if we could get cold water in the room, was advised that wasn’t a service they provided but I could get water from the tap or boil water and wait for it to cool.

On arrival, I was given the option of receiving a $30 voucher by forgoing room service for my stay as it was short. While at first glance, this seems like a good option, particularly for business travellers, however, on further consideration, this offer lowered my overall opinion of the hotel. While I can objectively see the cost benefit for the hotel on labour costs, at the end of the day, it is incentivising customers to accept an inferior experience in exchange for a minimal benefit that may or may not be used. It also made me wonder what other customer experiences I am losing out on if I had stayed elsewhere. In an industry focused on the customer, incentivising a worse experience should never be the goal.

I did not expect this level of service at a Mantra Hotel. The person who checked me in was exceptional. I had requested portacot for the room while booking, the person who checked me in realised it had not been provided before I even realised and came up to my room to resolve it. Upon checkout, I had forgotten some and when I came back to collect them the staff was even able to find my son’s car toy which I did not mention to them. The staff should be applauded for their service, above and beyond what is expected and better than my experience at higher level hotels I’ve stayed at
