Staff is amazing and ensures everything is perfect. last minute changes to daybed reservations for corporate events is upsetting and disappointing to our trip. Last minute management was able to accommodate our daybed and this is the service that makes it “home”.

We enjoyed our stay at the Fairmont overall. The resort itself is beautiful, very well maintained, and in a wonderful location. We especially enjoyed the private beach, the restaurants, and the excellent service throughout the resort.
Unfortunately, our room was very disappointing and did not meet the level of comfort or functionality we expected from a Fairmont property.
The biggest issue was the lack of a dresser or drawers to unpack and store our clothing. Instead, the room had a large coffee bar console with a refrigerator and glass storage where you would normally expect to find a dresser. Because there was nowhere to unpack, I had to leave my luggage open on the sofa for our entire stay.
The coffee maker was also located extremely low in the console—below knee level—which made it awkward and difficult to access and use.
There was also no table or desk in the room. This made it very difficult to use a laptop or comfortably enjoy in-room dining. We ended up having to use the bed for both working and eating, which is certainly not what we expected from a luxury resort.
The bathroom had similar functionality issues. There was very little counter space and no practical storage for toiletries or even my makeup bag.
We brought our concerns to the attention of the front desk. Although they apologized, we were told there was nothing they could do. We were also told that our room had recently been remodeled, which was surprising because the new design seemed to prioritize appearance over basic comfort, storage, and functionality.
It is unfortunate because there was so much we genuinely enjoyed about the Fairmont. The resort grounds, private beach, restaurants, location, and overall service were wonderful. However, the room itself was a major disappointment and significantly affected our overall experience.
For a resort of this caliber, guests should have a comfortable place to unpack their belongings, a functional surface for working or dining, accessible amenities, and adequate bathroom storage. We hope Fairmont will take this feedback into consideration when evaluating the design of its newly remodeled rooms.

Fairmont Orchid is a little out of the way and why we chose it. Fairmont Orchid has so many activities, wonderful pools, a beach, and golfing. Food is pricey so we ate a couple meals there then traveled into Kona for the rest of our meals. Highly recommend for beachy vacations and golf.

This was one of our best visits to the Fairmont Orchid. We come every year to celebrate our birthdays. We love the friendly Staff and the beautiful grounds. Our favorite spot is a daybed at the Lagoon Beach. The snorkeling this year was the best it’s ever been. It was like swimming in an aquarium. We also love the breakfast buffet and having a birthday dinner at Browns Beach House. Can’t wait to come back next year.

The grounds were pretty, all the staff was friendly and helpful. Extra comfy beds and pillows. We didn't eat on the property, so can't comment there. There are some aging spots on the property that need a bit of paint and repair, but for such a nice place, to us it is meaningless. We will be back.

My wife and I reside on the East Coast and have visited the island twice a year for the past five years. While we typically stay at the Westin, we decided to book a stay at your resort this time after experiencing a wonderful dinner at Brown’s last year.The location and property itself are fantastic, and your staff members were truly amazing. I cannot praise the food quality and service enough.However, we were very disappointed with the quality of our room. The room had a musty odor, and the carpeting felt constantly damp. Additionally, the paint and wall hangings showed noticeable wear. The showerheads and faucets appeared to need replacement, and the quality of the towels and linens did not match the premium standard we expect from a luxury brand.It unfortunately fell short of the high standards we have experienced at other Fairmont properties. We had understood that the property was recently renovated, but that was not reflected in our accommodations. While we absolutely love Pauoa Bay, the room condition would make us hesitate to choose your resort over the Westin in the future.

Very comfortable stay and did not see the kind of penny pinching that happens elsewhere. There was some confusion about whether we were eligible for the breakfast buffet or not. The staff at the breakfast insisted that we were eligible for a free breakfast and not bill us, even if we insisted that we had most definitely not paid for it. Double checked multiple times. We figured we'd been upgraded somehow without realizing it. I'll admit, I should have been more suspicious of this good fortune. When checking out, they first gave me a bill for all the breakfasts. I mentioned how the staff at the breakfast had been so insistent that we thought we were in the clear and went for the rest of our stay too. She comped off all the breakfasts on the final bill.
I suspect there's a software glitch between the front desk and breakfast service systems. I hope it didn't cause any issues to the staff there!

We are frequent Fairmont guests. We stayed in the past year in the penthouse at the SF Fairmont, Gold level at the Scottsdale Fairmont and at the Sonoma Mission Inn two months ago. We pick Fairmont for their impeccable service and attention to detail. This was not the case when we first checked into a room that had hair on two separate places on the toilet, a missing bathrobe, non functioning safe ( battery needed to be changed ) a soiled towel hanging up near the bathroom sink and very sticky closet and bathroom doors. I took a wet washcloth to them both and removed several layers of dirt. The carpeting felt and looked dirty as well. We went to grab food after check in and found the restaurant to look very tired, old and dirty. The seat cushions were stained, bird poop on the seats and tables. The pool table in the upstairs lounge looked beaten up. The oak trim in the bar and on the chairs and tables looked worn and faded.
We spent the night in the room and the next morning after doing a scrub down on the closet and bathroom doors I decided to approach management. I spoke with Dario and showed all the pics and videos I took. He was grateful and within an hour called and offered us to relocate to a suite. He told me to pack up and be ready to move. We packed up and waited for three hours in the room. After several phone calls as we were stuck in stand by in the dirty room, we were finally moved.
In closing, the staff was great and super nice but the hotel needs a major refresh. I would not recommend to friends or family to stay there unless this property is brought back to the level of excellence this brand is known for.

We enjoyed staying here very much. It has a small bay that is semi private. It has an easy access and very good snorkeling. They were eco friendly and gave us a refillable water bottle upon arrival and many water stations in the property. No more plastic water bottles.
We used the spa too which was good. Their restaurants have pretty good food.
