The staff are always welcoming, and the hotel being just a few minutes from my university makes such a difference to my wellbeing and routine. The only challenge I face is affordability as a student, but I remain deeply grateful for the comfort and stability your hotel provides.

I reported several issues with the room I was allocated (room 601). Firstly, the fan in the bathroom remained on constantly (could not be switched off) and is extremely loud even with the door closed. I was unable to sleep peacefully or enjoy the space due to the constant noise of the fan. Secondly, the room was incredibly cold and took a long time to heat up, plus the heating system is very noisy, making it impossible to sleep with the heating on! Finally, when showering, the water did not drain away. I was only in the shower for a mere 4 minutes, and the water was up to top of the shower tray. I had to switch off the shower to prevent the bathroom from flooding, and then wait 15 minutes for the water to drain away, before quickly rinsing myself! I had not yet finished my shower and was covered in foam/soap. When I reported these issues to reception, I simply received an apology but no offer of compensation and more worryingly, no reassurance that these issues would be fixed for future guests. I only stayed at the Birmingham Ibis Styles for a single night but had a very poor and disappointing experience. I can't help but feel cheated out of hard-earned money paid in exchange for an inadequate service, and undervalued as a consumer when I raised issues with staff about the room. Customers should not have to turn off the shower (when they have only been in there for 4 minutes!) to prevent the bathroom from being flooded, and then wait 15 minutes for it to drain before being able to rinse soap off themselves. I'm sure most people would find that infuriating. I would like to be compensated accordingly as the service provided, and my experience overall, was wholly unsatisfactory.

Can't really say much more than above, except that I've stayed here numerous times & 1st time I used the complimentary hot drinks machine, hot chocolate was lovely. It was unfortunate that the ice-machine was out of order though.

I stay in this property at least once a month for work. The rooms are always very clean. I was surprised at the price for this visit as it was 200 pounds more than a previous stay. That variation of price makes me consider whether I should continue to book this property.

We stayed at the Ibis as it was close to the Utility Arena, restaurants and bars. The room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed for our one night stay. I liked to idea of complimentary hot drinks in the reception area, and tea and coffee making in the room.

Excellent location for my visit to the Utilita Arena which was a short walk away. The room was spacious with a big, comfortable bed, providing me with a restful night's sleep after the concert. Hotel is extremely clean, perfect location in the centre of bham. Beds are comfy and the shower was one of the best! Will be staying again. Breakfast was good just needed more options only scrambled eggs which I personally like. That was £12 each.
