Everything about the hotel is in terrible decline since our last stay. The room was so badly designed and so dirty we almost moved out. The carpet was a mess. The lighting was ridiculous. There were too few electric outlets, and those that do exist are stupidly badly located. There wasn't a comfortable chair. The bathroom was a disaster -- slippery floor tile in the shower made using it literally frightening (HOW CAN YOU PUT SLIPPERY FLOOR TILE IN A SHOWER?), and there was absolutely no privacy -- a glass wall from the shower into the bedroom meant anyone using the bathroom during the night woke the other person with glaring light, and anyone showering was on full display in the bedroom. There was no grab bar. There were no reasonable amenities -- we had to ask 3 times for bathrobes and slippers, and the only product offered was a liquid soap so diluted it hardly worked. The sink clogged. The corridor rugs were filthy, and the corridors themselves were an obstacle course of too many and too large housekeeping carts. There was no place to sit waiting for elevators that often were not working. The service in general was unresponsive. The lobby is atrocious -- too small to accommodate the large numbers of clients waiting for their rooms, uncomfortable seating, and blaring beats that are not music and are not meant to be. At times the crowds made entering and exiting the hotel another obstacle course. The only positives were location (for which we chose the hotel) and quiet. We have been Accor members for many years (our current membership is a replacement of an older one). It will be hard for us to stay at an Accor hotel in the future. Our stay was uncomfortable and infuriating. We are still angry.

Having a translucent glass wall between the bathroom and sleeping area makes is disturbing to people trying to sleep when someone has the light on in the bathroom. Should have an opaque wall instead to block the light.

This was our first time in an accor hotel and it didn't disappoint. The room was clean and staff friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for accessing the City. There was access to a water dispenser that was not listed on the website, but was a real asset. My only negative comment was that the mini bar style made it difficult to fit a bottle of water in.

Three phone calls were made from Zurich to inquire about getting transportation from the train station to the hotel. The first two "said" they email my wife a link to set up a ride ... that never happened! The male individual who answered third call said "just take a taxi, that what we do."

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Novotel. The location was excellent, and the staff were lovely and very friendly. The breakfast was also very good, and we particularly enjoyed the excellent service at the bar. However, unfortunately, the hygiene and room preparation were disappointing. When we arrived, there was an empty wine bottle left behind the curtain, and there was an old piece of dental floss left in the bathroom. The room also had an unpleasant, stale smell when we first entered. I had booked a room with two beds for four people, but only one bed had been prepared. We had to contact reception and ask for the second bed to be made up. Overall, the location, staff and breakfast were excellent, but I would expect much higher standards of cleanliness and room preparation from Novotel. With better attention to hygiene and housekeeping, our experience would have been much more positive.

For our first trip to Paris, the Novotel was in the perfect location to serve as a home base for our family. Perfect to walk to the Metro, to catch a bus or a quick walk to the Louvre, Notre Dame, and other amazing monuments. We did not end up using the restaurant or pub for food, but both looked fantastic to try. The room was spacious and provided a restful space after long days out in the city. The amenities were what we needed, only area we had some confusion on was taking a shower and not drenching the floor. We wish we could have stayed longer! This is a great location for people who want to be centrally located in Paris.

Hotel did not mention it was under construction. The hotel’s name sign was removed and we passed by twice on a hot day. Even a small temporary sign would have sufficed.
